Baby Adiel Gisa Cyusa was born on April 13, 2021 at Indiana Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

We knew Adiel had a congenital heart defect: Tricuspid & Pulmonary Atresia prior to birth.

After his birth, he was quickly transferred to Riley Children Hospital for cardiovascular intense care.

Adiel had his first open heart surgery on April 22, 2021.

The initial surgery went well, but during post-surgery procedure, Adiel unexpectedly developed blood clots in his aorta and all four chambers of his heart. His wonderful team of surgeons and cardiologists were able to quickly remove the blood clots.

Overnight, Adiel suddenly developed more blood clots in his heart which then traveled to his liver, kidneys, and brain. This led to irreversible liver damage, numerous brain seizures, and complete kidney failure.

Adiel’s healthcare team did everything they could but there was nothing more that could be done to save Adiel.

Our Precious Baby Adiel passed peacefully in his mother’s embrace and accepted with open arms to Heaven at 4:33pm on April 23rd 2021.
