The day your first child is born is such an exciting day, but for some parents it can be a completely different experience filled with uncertainties, fears, and the feeling of helplessness. Tammy and Santi welcomed their first child on July 29th and due to Tammy having contracted Covid a few weeks ago they saw in an ultrasound that Aaron their son was suffering from tachycardia. They monitored the condition but determined that due to the stress being placed on his heart it was best to deliver him by c-session as soon as possible. Aaron was born and the hope was that this would help for his heart beat to regulate. Exams where done right away and they have found that his heart is also inflamed. He has been in the NICU since he was born and they are doing everything possible to help his heart heal so he can be with Tammy and Santi. Unfortunately Ecuadors health system where Tammy and Santi live is not the best. No parent should have to go through what they are going through no baby should have to fight to survive from the day they are born, but unfortunately that is a reality a lot of parents face. I know first hand that these babies are resilient fighters and are stronger than we will ever know, We have no doubt that Aaron will beat this and be able to go home with Mom and Dad soon. I also know that no parent should have to feel the financial burden of a broken healthcare system and be stressed at this moment in time on how they will pay a hospital bill because their newborn has had to be placed in NICU care in order to survive. We ask most of all for prayers that Aaron’s heart heals and he can soon go home with Tammy and Santi with a healthy heart. We ask that you please share this with your friends and family to create a prayer chain, and if you have the ability and means to we ask that you please donate anything you are able to so we can help alleviate this financial burden that has been placed over these new parents. El día que nace tu primer hijo es un día muy emocionante, pero para algunas padres puede ser una experiencia completamente diferente llena de incertidumbres miedos y sentimientos de impotencia. Tammy y Santi dieron la bienvenida a su primer hijo el pasado 29 de julio y debido a que Tammy había contraído Covid hace unas semanas vieron en una ecografía que Aaron su hijo sufría de taquicardia. Supervisaron la condición pero determinaron que, debido al estrés que sufría su corazón, lo mejor era que Tammy de a luz por cesárea lo antes posible. Aaron nació y la esperanza era que esto ayudaría a regular los latidos de su corazón. Los exámenes se realizaron de inmediato y descubrieron que su corazón también está inflamado. Ha estado en la cuidados intermedio desde que nació y están haciendo todo lo posible para ayudar a que su corazón sane para que pueda estar con Tammy y Santi. Desafortunadamente el sistema de salud de Ecuador donde viven Tammy y Santi no es el mejor. Ningún padre debería tener que pasar por lo que están pasando. Ningún bebé debería tener que luchar para sobrevivir desde el día en que nace. Pero desafortunadamente esa es una realidad que enfrentan muchos padres. Sé de primera mano que estos bebés son luchadores resistentes y son más fuertes de lo que nosotros podemos imaginar y no hay ninguna duda de que Aaron superará esto y pronto podrá irse a casa con mamá y papá. Pero ningún padre debería tener que sentir la carga financiera de un sistema de atención médica que no funciona y estar estresado en este momento sobre cómo pagará una factura del hospital porque su recién nacido tuvo que ser internado en cuidados intermedio para sobrevivir . Pedimos sobre todo oraciones para que el corazón de Aaron sane y pueda volver pronto a casa con Tammy y Santi con un corazón sano, les pedimos que compartan esto con sus amigos y familiares para crear una cadena de oración, y si tiene la capacidad y posibilidades les pedimos que donen para que podamos ayudar a aliviar esta carga financiera que se ha impuesto a estos nuevos padres.
