Hello, my name is Lisa New.

I’ve had the honor of knowing Tracy Branscum and Melinda Owen for over 20 years. I’m not just a friend—I consider them family.

Tracy’s quiet demeanor and her ever-present smile lit up any room. She took life’s challenges with grace and always found a way to make those around her feel at ease. Her love for her children and grandchildren was undeniable.

Melinda is like the daughter I never had. She has a heart of gold, and like the rest of her family, would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. That’s just who they are—humble, generous, and kind.

I am organizing this fundraiser on their behalf because they would never ask for help, but right now, they need it more than ever. This unimaginable tragedy has left them with loss, trauma, and a mountain to climb. I know that if the roles were reversed, this family would be the first to step up.

Now it’s our turn.

Tragic House Fire in Logan County – Help the Family Rebuild

In the early morning hours of July 12, 2025, tragedy struck in East Logan County, Oklahoma. A devastating house fire claimed the lives of Melinda Owens mother, sister, and 8 year old nephew. Her father is currently in the ICU, critically injured while trying to save his family.

Melinda lived next door and awoke to the chaos no one should ever face—her family’s home engulfed in flames. While her brother-in-law and 2-year-old niece managed to escape, the pain and destruction left behind are unimaginable.

This GoFundMe has been created to support Melinda and her family as they navigate this heartbreak. Funds raised will help cover:

   •   Funeral expenses

   •   Medical costs

   •   Temporary housing and living expenses

   •   Care and feed for their surviving farm animals

   •   Support to begin rebuilding what was lost

Melinda, a young mother of three now carries the overwhelming burden of helping her family rise from the ashes—emotionally and financially.
