Alex's Medical Fund

In December 2012, my son Alex was diagnosed with a grade 3 astrocytoma-a type of brain cancer. Since then he has had two open cranium surgeries. The steroids to keep his brain from swelling interfered with blood flow to his hips. He has had a total left hip replacement and may eventually need the right hip replaced. Since his diagnosis, he has been on chemotherapy and radiation treatment. He currently needs complete dental extractions. This treatment will take place at a clinic in Gainesville, FL which is a considerable distance from our home. I am an elementary school teacher and the head of household. Alex's treatment involves transportation to many appointments a week and often include out of town traveling. The funds raised here will help offset some of his dental cost as well as provide reliable transportation to his appointments.
