Marcus Doornbos (aka Bailey Mannix) is a friend to many and former professional wrestler. His credits include years of work in countless states and several countries.

In 2012, Marcus stepped away from wrestling to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an English teacher. As he put it, "I wanted to leave lasting improvement on the next generation." He attended school at Northern Illinois University before graduting and beginning his career in Georgia.

Marcus, missing the brotherhood found in the ring, began to play with the Atlanta Bucks rugby team.

On 04/11/15, a hit to the arm caused Marcus to rupture his bicep tendon, causing the bicep to retract entirely into his upper arm.

He was posed with the choice. He could either leave the injury and continue with a wounded arm for life or he could recieve surgery and potentially return to playing rugby.

On 04/16/15, he recieved surgery to reattach the muscle to the bone via surgical screws.

Between the pain and loss of strength in his arm, Marcus began the long battle to regain use of this arm. These efforts were stalled on 04/28/15 when Marcus's father passed away after a long battle with heart disease. Despite the emotional weight, Marcus continued to motivate himself to provide for his students and his teammates, rehabiliating himself to ensure he could continue to be a reliable teacher, teammate, and friend.

By September, Marcus had made a complete recovery through daily hard work to redevelop and maintain the strength in his arm. However, despite paying a $2000 deductable and assistance from the American International Group, Marcus still owes $3000 to pay the remaining balance for this surgery.

As his friend and roommate for many years, I am reaching out to help raise the money to cover the remaining balance of his hospital bills. Furthermore, any money raised over our goal will be donated towards the Prostate Cancer Foundation in honor of Marcus's father.
