24 August 2017 - the day I was told I had 3 months to live.
Those 6 months in between have been a whirlwind. The Teenage Cancer Ward in St Jimmy's Hospital have given me 8 cycles of chemotherapy, a stent to force open my oesophagus and numerous feeding tubes to put weight back on.
My family, friends and I raised over £10,000 in our 'Teenage Kicks Cancer' event for the Teenage Cancer Trust because of how much they've done for me. But now I desparately need money to extend my life.
After tough deliberation I have decided to turn down a different chemotherapy which would cause me to lose sensation in my hands and feet (a musician's worst nightmare!) Instead, I am hoping to go to a clinic in Germany which offers an alternative approach to fighting this disease.
The costs of going to Germany to receive private treatment will be very high. We do not have the funds we need to embark upon this desparately needed care. This course of action is the only one left open to us; without it the cancer will spread even further and my life expectancy will shorten so that Christmas is a target I will not reach.
I am 22 years of age. I have dreams and ambitions I want to fulfil. This cancer is taking my life away before it's even begun. I love my mum, dad, brother and sister and all my family and want to be with them to share a long and happy life. Please give me a future full of hope and promise. Please help us to take advantage of what the experts in Germany have to offer. Please offer whatever you can to give me a chance to live. When the sun comes up on Christmas day I pray I will be with my family sharing joy and happiness: you can help to make this wish come true.
