Help Sosa Family With Medical Bills

On October 14 of this year, my husband, Yeizon, experienced an unforeseen accident that changed things dramatically for our family.

It was dinner time, and Yeizon was at a taco stand buying dinner for me and Valentin, our five-year-old son. While waiting in line to order, a car jumped the curb. The vehicle drove onto the sidewalk where Yeizon and others were standing and ran them all over. He survived the incident but experienced severe injury. The injuries mainly impacted his upper body, primarily his shoulder area. His clavicle bone was broken in several places, and there was additional damage to the scapula and glenoid (parts of the shoulder). Additionally, he also received several broken ribs as a result.

To take care of his injuries, Yeizon underwent a seven-hour surgery to install a plate to keep his clavicle in place and screws placed in his shoulder. He came through the surgery well but will need physical therapy. We are blessed to have Yeizon safe and at home recovering. Valentin and his younger sister, two-year-old Arianna, couldn't be happier to be with their dad. We continue to pray for the family that lost their loved one that night; our hearts and prayers go out to you.

Yeizon is a very hard-working financial supporter of our family but has a long road to full recovery, which means he will be out of work for 6-12+ months.

We are reaching out because this was such an unfortunate accident with limited recourse for the expense that is being incurred and will continue to be incurred into this next year. Insurance doesn't cover the medical care he needs for his full recovery. We've tried all avenues, including pursuing the driver to get some financial recovery, but ultimately are unable to, which leaves it to us.

So many friends have inquired as to how they can help. This fund is to assist with medical and mounting expenses, as Yeizon is unable to work to help support our family. We are going to stay the course to get him the help he needs, which starts on November 21st with physical therapy. Since we will be covering all the costs out of pocket, any donation helps and is a blessing beyond measure.
