Logan's Battle
Donation protected
My nephew, Logan Barnes, is a strong and kind young man who is suddenly facing another life-changing battle. He is 26 years old with an undergrad degree from The University of NC at Chapel Hill in Astrophysics. Logan will graduate this May with his Master's degree in Analytics from NC State University. He is an outstanding student and is determined to finish his graduate school while fighting cancer. He loves watching movies, cheering for the Tar Heels, hanging out with family and friends, and spending time in Beaufort.
After 3 years of being cancer-free, Logan once again started experiencing pain in his leg, Logan was diagnosed with a recurrence of the rare form of bone cancer known as Ewing’s Sarcoma. With fewer than 200 cases of this cancer arising each year, Logan is lucky to have doctors familiar with the disease caring for him at The Duke University Cancer Center in Durham, NC. He recently restarted the grueling treatments prescribed, and will be enduring an intense series of chemo and specialized proton radiation treatments for many months. He will once again travel to Philadelphia for proton radiation. Logan is facing substantial financial and personal challenges, being unable to work with medical bills piling up while he tries simultaneously to finish his degree. The good news is that the reoccurrence of cancer appears to be localized, giving him and his family welcome hope for a good outcome.
Please support Logan in any way you can on this GoFundMe page. Any amount will be appreciated and will help him worry less about the financial burden of his disease, so he can focus more on staying strong and getting well. Logan is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount, NC, so prayers are also welcome. There is no doubt that Logan and his family will appreciate all donations, prayers and well wishes and will return the support to others in the future.
