National Network of Abortion Funds Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
The SCOTUS majority decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization was abhorrent as it overturned the rights guaranteed in Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood. The 6 justice’s devastating decision to tear rights away from all people able to bear children completely disregarded precedent and forced this country backwards. Inhibiting bodily autonomy is unjust, and preventing legal abortions will only halt safe abortions. This decision is purely about control, and the hypocrisy of the people in power is evident in the discrepancy between their “pro-life” platforms and their complete disregard for the lives of children and child bearing individuals. I can’t fix the atrocities of SCOTUS, but I can try to do something to help those affected by their mistakes. As such, I have a goal to raise money for the National Network of Abortion Funds which allocates funding across the country to help remove abortion barriers, and I’m asking for your help. I’m knowingly late to the game, but it feels like the right thing to do. I’m proposing a challenge for myself. In addition to matching donations up to $200 (subject to increase), for every $1 raised I will commit to gaining 25 feet of elevation (also subject to increase). Meaning, if my lofty goal of $1000 is reached, I will be committing to climb 25,000 vertical feet. While that may not seem like a lot, I’m far from a super athlete. This could seem like a selfish ploy for me to have another reason to play outside, but truly my hope is that this endeavor will add purpose and productivity to my time in the mountains so it can benefit more than just me. If you can, please share this fundraiser with anyone and everyone to help me get the word out! Also, if you know anyone that hates me with a passion, get them to donate! They can rejoice the fact that I will suffer for their donations. I will plan to document my attempts to complete this challenge on Instagram as a way to hold myself accountable.
Much thanks, Sam
