I am going to ride a bicycle from border to border of Missouri (roughly 330 miles) in one shot. I need your help to support my crew.
I am a privateer ultra-endurance cyclist that lived in an old van for five years straight, only to end recently, to support my racing goals on a shoestring budget. During that time, I rode solo from Missouri to Kentucky when the van was down, and rode the 240-mile Katy Trail in record time without a support car.
I have proven that I can accomplish big asks solo, but it slows me down. Despite a disappointing year, I want to end it on my terms by riding from one state line to the other, and see what I can do when I have a team around me. I anticipate this being a 25-30 hour effort; having a support vehicle allows me to not have to load my bike down with supplies, access to mechanical help, a safe place to close my eyes for a break when sleep deprivation hits, and lets me focus more on riding and less on survival. Unfortunately, I can't cover the costs associated with a supported ride on my own.
I am looking for help covering these costs for a reliable rental vehicle, fuel, two hotel stays at the beginning and end of the route, and food for a crew of 2-3 people. Multiple drivers are needed as this is a test of endurance for a crew as much as for me, and keeps morale high. If these people are going to step up for me like this, I want to make sure they're taken care of.
In return, Trackleaders will be providing livetracking for this ride so anyone can watch me move across the state in real time. Preliminary date is Friday, October 3rd, to be finalized in the coming days.
