Marina Bicknese Fund
We are friends and family of Marina Ferro-Bicknese.
Marina is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She is a 49 year old dedicated mother of 4 - ages 16, 20, 21, 25 (two in college). She is married to her childhood sweetheart - Kenny.
She has always been a hard worker, helping to support her family. In 2014 she developed serious back and neck problems which required surgery. Then last year, she was hit by a forklift - as crazy as that may sound!
After that, her pain spiraled out of control and everything went downhill. She started physical therapy and seeing pain-management doctors and was out of commission for weeks.
On Feb 25, 2016 Marina suffered 2 strokes and 3 siezures. She had to be put on a respirator and an induced coma. She was released 2 weeks later and has been in a rehabilitation center ever since. They still do not know the cause. She may have a blood clotting disorder.
She is still not able to walk on her own and is suffering from short-term memory loss, along with being very depressed. Kenny, her husband, has been by her side since Day 1 and has missed a lot of work caring for her. He also had to quit his night-job to help care for her months ago. His union job included all benefits for the family and they lost that. Because of this, their savings was depleted to pay for therapy, pain management, bills, tuition, etc.
Marina has not been able to work her 2 jobs either and the hospital bills are piling-up. Insurance does not cover many of the expenses. She will not be able to drive for 6 months, which means she won't be able to work.
Since she has always helped everyone around her, it's time for all of us to help Marina out. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
