RALLY FOR RANDY
Donation protected
As most of you know, Randy Brown has been my best friend, my brother, my ride or die since day one. Together, we have been members of the fire department for 30+ years and on May 20, 2022 we attended a volunteer fire dept sponsored golf outing together.
What started out as a fun day with friends ended up taking a horrible turn. At the 10th hole, Randy and our close friend, Allen were involved in a golf cart accident. While Allen is still recovering, he is home, back to work and doing well. We are extremely grateful for Allen’s recovery! Randy’s injuries, however, were more severe. Randy sustained a ruptured aorta, an injured spleen, an injured colon, a bruised kidney, 5 broken ribs, a large facial laceration and a substantial spinal cord injury after falling down a 40 ft hill with their golf cart. He was airlifted to Shock Trauma and immediately underwent emergency surgery for his injuries. He spent the next 6 weeks enduring several additional surgeries, tests and procedures. He has since been transferred to a rehab facility and still has a long road to recovery ahead of him. This has definitely taken not only a physical, but a mental and emotional toll on Randy and all who love him. We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love, support and prayers that you all give daily. His “village” has helped get him this far, but his ordeal is far from over. At this time, we are concerned with the financial hardship he may face due to mounting medical bills, an extended stay in rehab, and any additional hospital stays, surgeries, procedures, treatments, equipment or lifestyle modifications that he may need. While it is uncertain what the future holds for him at this time, the events of May 20, 2022 changed Randy Brown’s life forever. The severity of his spinal cord injury is significant and we are now asking for help, as Randy continues to navigate forward on this new, unfamiliar and difficult path in life. Please help us make this part of his journey a little bit easier and contribute if you can. Again, we are so very thankful for all of you each and every day!
