Gender Affirming Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sawyer and I've been transitioning medically since January of 2022 to live my truth as a trans woman. I cannot properly put into words how much my life has changed for the better since I started my transition. My family and friends have seen firsthand how my quality of life has improved, my depression has drastically lifted to a manageable place, I'm living more comfortably in my body, and I've truly never felt happier in my life. It's sad to think about but there were times where I physically couldn't envision myself having a future of growing older, or what my life would look like, and I feel so lucky to be out of that dark place.
On November 28th I'll be undergoing facial feminization surgery (FFS) to soften some of the more masculine aspects of my face that have brought a distressing amount of gender dysphoria to me. I don't want to look like a different person, but I want to look like a softer version of how I already look and have my features harmonize, ultimately becoming the truest version of myself (I will be undergoing a brow lift, brow shave, rhinoplasty, genioplasty, and tracheal shave). Features like my chin, brow, and trachea have plagued me with feelings of ugliness since I was a literal child, too young to truly understand that I was experiencing, but luckily, I'm finally in a place where I'm ready to treat it head on.
I'm tremendously blessed to have most of my expenses for the operation itself covered by insurance, however this procedure will require an intense recovery period where I will be out of work. Along with preexisting expenses of living I will need to buy supplies to help in my recovery to make the healing process as smooth as possible. I truly would appreciate any support you may be able to give whether it be a donation or sharing my link so others can hear my story. I have such an amazing support system in my life, and I see this as one of the last big steps I have toward living as a happier version of myself. Thank you so much for reading and stay safe.
