Help me make it into university!

Hello, my name is Hezler Muando, and I am reaching out with a dream and a deep desire to change my future.

I am a young, 19-year-old Mozambican student who has worked tirelessly to achieve success despite financial struggles. Raised by a single mother of two, I have witnessed firsthand the sacrifices it takes to provide a better future for one’s children.

My mother dedicated her entire life to ensuring I had access to the best education possible, despite the hardships of raising two children on her own, with no external help. She worked late nights, extra hours, and made endless sacrifices, all to give me opportunities that were often out of reach for people in our situation. She never let financial struggles define my future, and now, I want to honor her sacrifices by continuing my education at Franklin University Switzerland—a life-changing opportunity that I am determined to pursue.

I was fortunate to receive a 35,000 CHF scholarship, but I still face a financial gap of 37,350 CHF per year to cover the rest of the tuition, accommodation, and basic living expenses. Despite exploring scholarships, loans, and part-time work, I am still short of the funds I need to make this dream a reality.

Coming from a background where financial limitations often define one's future, I refuse to let money be the reason I cannot pursue my goals. I am driven by the belief that with the right education and opportunity, I can build a better future—not just for myself, but for others who face similar struggles.

I am passionate about business, entrepreneurship, and economic development. My goal is to use my education to create opportunities in Mozambique and across Africa, empowering young people to achieve financial independence through business innovation and investment.

This fundraiser is very important to me and my family. I studied in an international high school, doing the IB curriculum, and graduated last year. I have been trying to figure out ways to go to university since then, while all my friends have left for higher education. I've always thought that applying to Switzerland was too ambitious for a person in my situation, but when I got accepted to Franklin University, for a 3 year bachelor’s in International Management, with a generous scholarship, I started being hopeful again. I have to break the cycle of poverty, honor my mother's sacrifices, support my family and my community, and be able to provide for my brother's education in the future.

I am asking for your support in any way possible—whether through donations, sharing my story, or connecting me with potential sponsors. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to achieving my dreams and making a real difference.

With your help, I can break financial barriers, graduate with a full education, support my family, and work towards a future where financial hardship does not define one’s destiny.

Thank you for believing in me and for being part of this journey.

Every donation counts, and I truly appreciate your support.
