On November 11, 2021 Scott suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm which resulted in a subarachnoid hemorrhage. For those not aware, a subarachnoid hemorrhage is a type of stroke, which only one third of people survive.
Scott was life flighted to Allegheny Medical Center where he underwent emergency brain surgery and remained in the ICU under sedation. After the neurosurgeons repaired this aneurysm Scott suffered a secondary right hemisphere ischemic stroke. He underwent an emergency craniectomy, where a large portion of his skull was removed for brain swelling . He suffered another deep vein thrombosis in his leg that may cause a pulmonary embolism. He was transferred to a critical illness recovery center That can hopefully help him to Recover from this tragic event.
Throughout incredible adversity, Scott has survived and was even singing the song amazing grace several hours after brain surgery! He has a long road ahead for recovery and we don’t know what that looks like for Scott but we remain hope in Christ that he will heal.
The key to his recovery for stroke is effective and persistent treatment and rehabilitation that will occur in the first three to four months, so we are asking for your help to get Scott the best care available.
For anyone who knows him, Scott never gave up on anything he set his mind to! He is a talented musician, funny, selfless, loyal, and a man devoted to Christ. He is an amazing husband, father of 4 children, friend, and loves his Pugs.
Please consider donating to help Scott and his family during this time of need. Donations will help pay for Scotts ongoing treatment, rehabilitation, and cost of living expenses.
Since Scott is still undergoing critical treatment and not fully conscious, donations will be handled by his wife Mary Barrick. We ask for prayers for him.
