Shortly after going to bed on September 10th, Amber experienced a seizure while she was sleeping. Her husband Chris called for an ambulance and she was quickly taken to a regional hospital. After an MRI and PET scan, the doctors discovered what appears to be a 5-6 cm brain tumor. The tumor is located between her left temporal and left frontal lobes.

They don’t know if the tumor is malignant or benign but they are pretty confident that this is the cause of the seizure. We have not yet heard the details for a biopsy. They have set up an appointment with a neurosurgeon on Monday to discuss the diagnosis and treatment plan. She is currently resting in the hospital and will be released as soon as they are confident her seizures are under control.

The impact of this news on top of time away from work will begin to build on the family. Their biggest concern right now is the immediate impact of the daily expenses. Amber and Chris will both have to step away from work for a time. Chris will have to help with taking Amber to and from appointments as well as help with the kids as Amber’s driving will most likely be restricted.
