Amaia is a 4 year old girl from Tijuana, Mexico, who is fighting bravely against cancer and needs our support. She was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a fast-progressing cancer of the bone marrow. Her life-saving treatment requires constant blood transfusions and 120 chemotherapy sessions, with an estimated cost of 2.7 million pesos. Every donation brings to Amaia one step closer to healing.
Amaia lives with her mother and her siblings. One of them has just started middle school and is also dealing with a health condition that requires frequent hospital visits, medical tests, and ongoing therapies, placing an even greater emotional and financial burden on the family.
Amaia’s mother, Yessenia, cares for her children on her own. She is a hardworking and resilient woman who does everything she can to support her family—working as a fare checker on public transportation, selling candy and homemade treats from her home.
Despite all the challenges she faces, Amaia always has a smile on her face. She loves to dance and is part of La Comparsa de San Juan, where she shares her love for traditional dances from the state of Morelos with her mother. Amaia lights up when she puts on her traditional outfit, dancing with pure joy and colorful spirit.
Amaia loves wearing pink and purple—colors that reflect her sweetness and vibrant energy. She is a talkative, charismatic little girl full of life. Even when treatments leave her feeling tired, she never loses her joyful spirit or her desire to greet everyone with a smile.”
Amaia’s fight is just beginning, and she cannot do it alone. Your donation can help cover life-saving treatments and give her the chance to grow, dream, and dance again. Please donate if you can, and share her story to help us reach more hearts. Together, we can give Amaia hope.
