This will be my third attempt to raise money. Previously I haven't come even remotely close to my goal. I gave up after a few days. It isn't easy to put our family struggle out there. This whole year has been extremely hard. My illness has made it much harder. I lost my insurance a few months ago through a mistake (not by me). I've been trying to get it back but it's been a very frustrating process. In the meantime my medical bills have set us back in our already constant struggle. Stosh has been working hard to improve our situation and is currently looking for an overnight job to help put food on our table. I simply want to give my kids a Christmas and keep my electricity on. Financially this has been one of the toughest years I've been through. Health wise it's been awful. Everyday is a fight for me. I hate asking for help. It's really hard. It' s depressing. The stress of constantly struggling has really gotten to me. I love my family so I'm doing everything I can. Including throwing all pride out the window. Stosh doesn't know I'm looking for help. He would never ask.
Every other year we've given to others this time of the year. No matter how small. Toys for tots. Food drives. This year we are on the other side. My kids are so excited for Christmas and I don't know how to tell them Santa may not find our house this year.
I have Ehlers-Danlos disease. It's a rare disease that affects your joints and connective tissues. Everyday is a struggle for me. I currently have neck, back and wrist injuries. I desperately need to see specialists. I can't explain fully how hard it is to face each day when pain is a constant, when you feel that your future is severely limited.
The little things that most people take for granted like going out to dinner, taking a day trip or even just shopping for clothes for your kids are things we can't do right now. I don't mind going without for myself but I can't stand it for my kids. We are doing everything we can to make things better but it hasn't been enough. So I'm reaching out. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this. It's not easy to share.
