Hello everyone as many of you may know and many may not know in December of 2021 after battling Covid-19 and ending up in the hospital for 2 weeks I was informed that I was also in renal failure. It was something that had been going on and I was unaware of the severity. I was in critical care and was fighting for my life. Doctors in the ER expressed to me how they didn't know how I was still conscious and walking and I was in complete failure and in need of a transfusion and had no time to call anyone or think about what was being told to me it was a decision I needed to make at that moment. I remember saying to the Doctor in the ER that I believe in a God that has kept me alive with a purpose. As a result I ended up on Dialysis. When I was told I would have to start dialysis it was one of the most scariest moments of my life. However I placed all my faith in God and knew that if he had kept me alive it was with a purpose and I would fight to fulfill my purpose. I have now been on dialysis for almost 2 years. (December will be 2 yrs) It has not been an easy road for myself or my family. When I was diagnosed I spent approximately 6 months unable to work I finally was able to return to work and while some weeks I am unable to work the entire week I do the best I can under the circumstances. I am now doing peritoneal dialysis at home which allows me to have a somewhat normal life. It allows me to be able to work and doesn't take time away from my family as I do treatments at night. I have finally completed all my testing and specialist recommendations for a transplant. I am currently awaiting a transplant. I am trying to prepare financially for what is to come which is 6 weeks of recovery I am also expected to stay at a hotel or Airbnb near the hospital for approximately 4 weeks following the transplant. As of right now I am on 2 list however the Tampa General is the most promising. This will mean that I will be out of work for minimum 6-8 weeks and will need to be cared for around the clock for the 6 weeks which means that my family will need to also take time off from work. We will have to cover our travel and accommodations as well as still take care of our household bills and rent. There is no donation too small. Every little bit will help and most of all I'm asking for continued prayers for myself and my family. I know God will see us through. I believe that when it all said and done my testimony will help others. In the mean time I am doing everything I can to stay healthy and take care of myself while I await my call.
