Broken Ankle Fund

Monday 4/21 I was riding home on my scooter when a woman pulled out in front of me. I hit the front end of her car and everything went black. I sat up about 15 ft from her car and saw my foot facing to the right and was quickly helped off the street by passersby. An ambulance took my to the ER and after X-rays found out I broke my ankle in three places. I was later sedated and my leg was reset and wrapped. I am waiting for a consult next week to discuss surgery and was told I most likely need a plate.

I was working in a tumbling studio and about to start work doing ABA therapy but both are active and I am now out of work. I have a friend staying with me to take care of things but I do not know how I will pay my rent come June 1st. I plan to reach out to social services but in the meantime am asking for donations to make things easier. I do have a lawyer and the person had insurance but this process will be lengthy and we still are not sure what type of coverage they had. Any money donated will go towards food, supplements to aid in my recovery, Ubers to appointments, upcoming bills and rent, things for comfort like more pillows, pants that can get over my foot, stool for my shower, etc.

Best case scenario the woman has good coverage and everything gets settled in a few weeks to months. Worst case scenario she has minimal coverage and after my lawyer and medical bills get paid I’m left with chump change.
