AssalamuAlaykum,

Our dear and beloved brother, Khalil Alshareef, and his entire family of eight have been involved in a horrendous vehicle accident while traveling to California. His 15-year-old son, Ibrahim, has passed away, and other members of his family, including wife and three other children, have been admitted into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Currently, all have been discharged except for the youngest one, Jana, 4-year-old daughter. She is still in PICU. The little girl is diagnosed with a severe case of Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI), amongst other major issues, like broken ribs and arms, punctured spleen and liver, lung infection, very small blood clots in both the head and stomach, as well as the inability to eat!

The doctor informed the family yesterday, June 27, that the soonest he thinks she could leave the hospital is next Wednesday, July 1.

Alhamdulillah, the Muslims of Utah and California covered the burial costs for Khalil's son. However, many other expenses are piling up, and our dear brother Khalil needs our support and assistance.  

We here in Utah know Khalil very well! He is a wonderful brother who lives in Ogden and works in Salt Lake City, where he attends the five daily prayers at Madina Masjid and is an active member of both the Salt Lake and Ogden Muslim communities.
