Hi my name is Kayla and if you know me well you know my fur baby Riley. Riley has lived with a life long condition of having liver shunts which means she doesn’t process or digest food as any other dog with a healthy liver would. So she’s had constant visits to the vet due to vomiting because of certain dog foods she can’t process because of her condition but it’s never been major. She is currently 5 years old and if you’ve gotten the pleasure of meeting her you’d know what a delight and perfect baby she is to everyone. She has always been a hyper, happy and active dog despite her condition.

Just a few days ago she started vomiting as she usually would from eating too much food but this time it was constant. She started peeing and pooping blood and then developed jaundice.

After an emergency vet visit we were told she developed aspirational pneumonia, gastroenteritis, biliary duct obstruction and with an already damaged liver all these complications took a huge toll on her body which then led doctors to send her to an ICU to be pumped with IVs fluids, meds and a GI tract tube to give her nutrients.

After testings and xrays it was discovered that she needed a surgery to remove a blockage in her biliary duct. Which is life threatening with no surgery she has no chances of surviving this. Expenses are adding up So I please ask you to help me in this difficult time. Anyone with a fur baby knows how much impact one has in your life.
