A Cry for Help: The Story of Naseem Ashkbar and His Family

Naseem Ashkbar, a brave U.S.-Afghan ally who served alongside American forces, made the difficult journey to start a new life in Tallahassee, Florida, with hopes of building a safe and stable future for his family.

But on October 3, 2025, tragedy struck.

While driving near Pensacola, Florida, Naseem and his family were involved in a devastating car crash that changed everything in a instant. Naseem himself sustained injuries, but the pain of his own wounds pales in comparison to what happened to his loved ones. His daughter suffered a traumatic head injury, His wife has a serious back injury and is in constant pain, unable to move without assistance. Their son is fighting for his life in critical condition.

To make matter worse, his car, which Naseem used for work, was destroyed in the crash. That wasn’t fully insured, and now he has no way to earn money or get around.

After years of helping others and serving with the U.S. military, Naseem came to this country for peace and a better future for his kids. Now, he is watching his family suffer and feels helpless.
