Emily's healing journey

At the very end of April I tore my ACL and Meniscus skiing. Ive been on crutches for the last 6 weeks and just got reconstructive surgery on my knee on June 5th. They were able to repair my meniscus and reconstructed my ACL with an allograph from a cadevor. The surgery went well but I have a long road to recovery.
In the midst of this life-altering injury, my whole world is shifting and I am in the middle of a huge life transition. I am leaving my job teaching kindergarten to pursue opening up my own childcare program and focusing on my creative endevours however my plans are being halted as I am being asked to slow down and focus on my healing. I wont be able to work for a while but hopefully as I heal I will be able to find ways bring my vision into a reality.
At the end of June I need to move out of my upstairs apartment where I live alone so that I have a better place to heal and recover.
I am just starting PT and will have a long road to recovery before I can walk again and get back to my full active self. I have 6-8weeks in a full leg brace and 6-12 months until full recovery. Unfortunatly I am having a difficult time with my insurance and they are making me dirve 45 mins to physical therapy so I am also needing to coordinate rides and transportion to appointments over the next few months.
Since I am transitioning my career and housing, I am also loosing my health insurance and have to move my things into storage until I figure out my next steps.
I am raising funds to get me through this intense time and help pay for medical exepenses, moving, storage, and transportation and also to help support me while I heal, recover, and find my way forward.
Its been a bit of a dark time and I am praying for clairity and healing as a navigate these rough waters. I am so grateful for the support of my friends, family, and greater communtity to help me move through this and come out the other side even stronger. Thank you to everyone for your contributions and support! I wouldnt be able to do it without you.
