Help send Adelante 6th Graders to CIMI

The 6th grade class of Adelante Charter School has the amazing opportunity to go to the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI), a STEM-based outdoor science school that provides exciting marine science education for students on Catalina Island. They will have the opportunity to snorkel, kayak, learn about animals, their habitats and the ocean and island environment while building strong relationships and last memories with their peers. For many of our students this will be their first time going on a boat or spending a night away from home. This trip is one that 6th grade students at Adelante look forward to every year. After over two years of limited activities due to COVID, our 6th graders are looking forward to making some amazing memories for their last year at Adelante.

Many of our families cannot afford to pay for the cost of the trip and we are looking for generous donors to help us be able to send 39 students and 4 chaperones on this amazing trip. The cost of the trip is $450 per student. In addition to the CIMI trip, we are raising funds to take some of the field trips that these students missed out on due to COVID. In addition to fundraising for the 6th grade CIMI trip, we are also starting to fundraise for 6th grade promotion activities and other events this year. All of the donations will be acknowledged with a tax relief letter (Tax ID# 77-0565400).

About Adelante
Adelante Charter School is a Title I school that is chartered by Santa Barbara Unified School District. Our campus is located on a portion of the Franklin Elementary School campus in the Eastside Community of Santa Barbara. The mission of Adelante is to develop bi-literate, multi-cultural students whose strong academic and cultural foundations prepare them to meaningfully participate and provide leadership in their families, their community and their world to create a more just and equitable society. Our school is unique for many reasons, but primarily because we offer a Two-Way Immersion Spanish/English educational K-6 curriculum where students are taught in a supportive environment to excel as creative, empowered thinkers and problem-solvers.
