Hi, My name is Marilyn and I need to depend on the kindness of friends and strangers. Recently My Mum lost her home to forclosure and we are desperate to find funds to secure a new home. We have an opportunity to purchase a mobile home located in a nice park but there's a catch. We have no money available and have failed to find alternative sources.
My Mum is 80 years old and has been experiencing some serious helth issues including having had all the prostetic hardware in her left arm and shoulder removed over the summer due to a very serious infection. That surgery was followed by 2 months in a rehab facility and we are now awaiting clearance for her to have the reconstructive surgery . While all this was going on my Mum's home was foreclosed on and we missed the court date to either stop the action or postponed. Now we have less than a week to find a new home. My Mum lives off of social security and two very small pensions from Canada and the UK that have taken serious hits in the currancy markets losing over $150 in income. Combine this with the serious health issues that I have been experiencing recently (I had a stroke at 54) and the small income I have (disability and A small stipend from the church I sing at) there is little money left each month after the house expenses and medical needs are met.
What I am searching for are a bunch of Angels who would be willing to help me find a new home for us and leave a little nest egg to ward off any further problems. I am looking for $15000 that would be used to purchase the home make the neccesary repairs (removing carpeting, laying new floors, possiible minor reno of the bathrooms to make them more handicapped friendly, find a new used car that is easier for Mum to get in and out of safely, etc...)
Any amount will help, and any amount would be welcome. I would have never solicited this for myself but my Mum is special. She has been the glue that has held my family together for over 40 years, being the primary breadwinner, making sure that there was a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs and food in our bellies.
All my life she has been the knight in shining armour silently supporting my siblings and I and always being there. It was never easy but she never complained. When my father was diagnosed with end stages dementia she was there for him. For once I want to lift her up. Should we be blessed with an abundance of funding, I would hope to be able to turn part of the excess (reserving some as an emergecy fund) over to my church to fund their work throughout the community.
I realize that this is a difficult time of year to solicite donations, but I also believe that many people are willing to give small amounts and through the efforts of many small donations this sum is possible. Please take the time to consider and bless you and yours this holiday season.
