Hi there,
My name is Mike and last year my cousin and I took part in the first Flawed Hero Marathon in Letchworth, which was aimed at fund raising for the parents of sick kids in Great Ormand Street Hospital and to increase awareness for men's mental health.
This year we are going to walk the Flawed Hero Marathon again to raise money for pancreatic cancer, and for the haematology department of Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge, who looked after me so well.
Last year in September I went through a stem cell transplant for my multiple sclerosis which had became active again, I would say with great clarity that this is by far the most challenging thing I have ever been through, almost as challenging as the marathon. After going through this, I had a lengthily recovery period to focus on and therefore I needed
some motivation and something to look towards to. So, I decided that I would aim to be fit again in time to walk the Flawed Hero Marathon once again.
Here we are on the final part of this journey with the finish line in sight. I know that times are tough but I would really appreciate any support that you are able to give to these
great charities, and lets all raise awareness together!
