Hi my name is Kelly. I lost my youngest son in April and went back to work in May. He was 19, the baby.
I was just fired from my job. When I came back to work (which was way too soon) instead of helping me get acclimated back into the work environment, I was given 2 more properties that were already on the verge of firing the company because they were neglected for over a year. Coincidentally, I emailed HR regarding their bereavement policy because 3 days of paid leave after losing a child is unrealistic. Instead of emailing me back, I was met with a meeting with HR and my director to discuss my performance. I was basically fired for a typo that lead to having to reschedule a meeting, which I did.
I’ve owned my mistake but I believe I was fired due to my email challenging the bereavement policy and after I reached out for help for being overwhelmed and having PTSD from the loss of my precious son.
I’m about to lose everything.
