Hello my name is Charley and I’m sooooo very grateful you are taking the time to read my story about my mum Megg’s.

For those who don’t know Megg’s, she is a single mum of 4, my 3 brothers and myself.

Mum recently celebrated her 50th Birthday (which was 1 of her goals) She is currently suffering with severe COPD & other medical conditions which are Crohns disease, pulmonary hypertension and heart failure.

Mum has been in and out of hospital for many years fighting COPD and her Heart disease.

Over the past 3 weeks mum has been in John Hunter Hospital where she was on life support. We her kids were all called in to say our goodbyes, we were told they didn’t expect her to survive coming of the ventilator, but miracles do happen, mum slowly woke up and yes it was her 50th Birthday.

If it wasn’t for my eldest brother Anthony she wouldn’t be here today, he heard mum was sick so he came and got her and drove her straight to hospital which is just over 1.5hrs away, not the local hospital as they have done nothing to help our mum in over 7yrs, so we can’t thank Anthony enough! 

This Go Fund Me is to try to help my mum with future on going life long medical expenses which include home oxygen and equipment hire, portable oxygen so she can leave the house and live while she can, even if it’s just a walk at the beach or to go shopping and feel independent, also hire of a cpap machine until she is eligible for government help, transport to specialist appointments and their expenses and medications. It will also be used to help pay for mum relocate and downsize her accommodation to a unit that will suit her disability. Mum also has to buy a new car as the one she bought earlier this year was sold to her with issues that are to expensive to fix, and she needs an auto instead of her manual as she has lost a lot of the muscle in her legs! We love mum and are so grateful we still have her, she has done everything for us, so it’s time we paid her back and did everything we can for her!
