My abuser lives one block from me and my family and has continuously harassed and followed us, albeit "legally", for 6 years. A settlement would mean my abuser would be forced to sell the property which he resides in and finally move. I am tired of living in fear filled to the brim with anxiety, worrying if my kids are safe to play outside or walk to school.
I am also driven to fight for my mother, who is 80 and slowing down. She lives independently in a rented, low income apartment, but one day, she will require more care and she doesn't have the funds for it. Winning a settlement will also allow me and my brother to obtain better home support so she can continue her life safely.
A little about me: I am an Inuit woman and a survivor. I have fought with aggressive Ulcerative Colitis since my teens, anxiety and depression, as well as cancer this past summer. The trauma I endured has affected every aspect of my life and I'm lucky to have survived this far.
Any donation will matter. It would mean one step forward for me and my loved ones to live in peace. With your assistance, I can force my abuser to move and I can help my aging mother as her needs change.
Please feel free to contact me personally for more in-depth information. For legal reasons, I have to be vague but I can be truthful in private messages.
Thank you for reading my story.
