She began this part of her story October 17, when she found out she had cancer. Lauren's journey has been filled with strength, resilience, and unwavering determination. Unfortunately, she now faces the daunting challenge of overwhelming medical expenses due to her recent double mastectomy, ongoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Lauren's Story:

Two and a half months ago, Lauren underwent a life-changing double mastectomy as part of her treatment plan to combat breast cancer. While the surgery was a significant milestone in her journey, it was only the beginning. The fight against cancer continues with chemotherapy every other week and radiation 5 days a week, a crucial component of her healing process.

Lauren's indomitable spirit has been a source of inspiration to all who know her. She refuses to let cancer define her life and remains determined to overcome the challenges it presents. She tried to still fit in walks at the park for her two dogs Asha and Diego. She even switched jobs to have some sort of income coming in. She is experiencing difficulties in her hands and shoulder after her double mastectomy. Due to this, she is no longer able to do her massage therapy. Hopefully that I’ll get better in time However, the mounting medical bills have become a source of stress and anxiety, hindering her ability to focus solely on her recovery.

 

The costs associated with Lauren's medical treatments are staggering. Despite having health insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses, deductibles, and co-pays have quickly added up. The medical bills for her chemotherapy alone will exceed $8,000.
