Turn My Chair Into a Chopper
Donación protegida
Hi! I'm Charles.
I use a manual wheelchair to get around eveywhere. Mostly, it's great; I stay fit and self-reliant, and I always get where I'm going eventually. Some days, though, it's a little tougher. Rain, snow, ice, and general rough terrain, all of which can be found in abundance in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where I live. Right now, it's the heat. It's 103 degrees today, three miles each way to work, which ordinarily is not a long way, but lately by the time I get home I'm shaking from heat exhaustion. What I need is something that helps me get where I'm going faster and without exertion. What I need is this.
That's the Firefly Electric Attachable Handcycle. As you can see, it's a wheel and an electric motor that attaches to your wheelchair frame so that you can convert a manual chair into an electric when you need it, detach it and go back to muscle power when you don't. At a steady speed of 10 mph, it's slow enough to be sidewalk legal but faster than I am on my own, and with a range of up to fifty miles before recharging, I'll know I'll get where I'm going.
I don't have health insurance, or anyone who can spot me $2,100. If help is to come from anywhere, it will be here. It will be you. I can't offer you anything but my gratitude, or promise that I'll do anything great with my newfound capability. I'm just going to go to the grocery store, the library, maybe a movie once in awhile. I hope you'll decide to help anyway.
