My father was diagnosed with colon cancer almost a year ago on my birthday May 5th 2016. We found out that it was stage 4 and metastasized to his liver and his lungs along with the tumor low by his sphincter muscles on May 18th 2016. But my father is strong and said he was going to fight it and decided to follow the oncologist and do chemotherapy and radiation. He was a trooper everyday going although he was in such pain. He was battling this cancer and was not going to let it have him. The oncologist said things were good but he was still in the constant pain. We kept questioning if things are looking good why is he in such pain and became unable to walk and drive now. Our answers were its just the cancer. There was a plan by his oncologist that he would do surgery after chemo and radiation but it seemed as though he thought everything was fine. Things were shrinking. We sought out more questions because he was now faced with rectal bleeding, so we went from one hospital to another and then came to one that found what was going on. The tumor in his colon was causing the bleeding and has now spread to his pelvic bone. When he eats he has ulcers that cause leakage causing more infection. Today 3/21/2017 we took a hard hit and the surgeon at the hospital told us he has 6 months to live. It was as if my chest was being caved in. My best friend, my dad, and my rock. He told me and my family he wants to go to hawaii and be by the beautiful waters. That is his dream and wish in whatever time he has left. I don't like to ask for help but when you're hurting and need it why not. I'll do anything to take my dad somewhere we can build memories and loving moments. God is good and please continue to keep him in your prayers. Thank you for anything.
