Help UWSP Soil Judging Team Compete Nationally

In March, our team will be traveling to Raleigh, North Carolina, for the National Collegiate Soil Judging competition. Around 20 teams from across the country will travel to North Carolina to learn about soil, correctly identify them, and evaluate them for land use.

Soil Judging is one of the best hands-on educational opportunities for students in the soils program at UWSP. Participating is a great way to learn valuable knowledge that students will carry with them throughout their professional careers in soil science, agronomy, and waste management among others. It is also a great opportunity for students to connect and network with their fellow soil peers. Traveling to North Carolina for nationals will give our students a unique opportunity to indulge in the soils there and learn about a place they possibly have never been to before, along with networking with other soil enthusiasts there. This is a rare opportunity that will greatly influence our future careers!

The UWSP Soil Judging Team is beyond thrilled to learn about North Carolina State soils and share this with the students back in Stevens Point. Our team took 4th place in the regional soil judging competition this past fall and hosted the National soil judging competition last spring. We are incredibly excited to travel and learn about soil in a new area! Our soils community continues to grow in both size and excitement.

We are hoping to raise enough money to send as many students as we can to North Carolina!
