Our friend and classmate is going through a hard time right now. Craig Reid and his wife, Christine, are about to lose their home to foreclosure on March 16 and must find a place to live and move with little turnaround. Craig has been wheelchair bound for many years and can't work, and Christine lost her job, so they got behind on their mortgage payments. I am starting this GoFundMe Campaign to try to help them get moved and cover their rent until they can get back on their feet.
It took a lot of courage for Craig to reach out, so I hope you can help him with a donation, in any amount, or other form of assistance--legal, housing, anything.
Here is what Craig wrote:
To all of my personal friends, family and FB friends... My wife and I are having a difficult time right now. I am retired after being disabled for many years and she has been out of work for over 10 months. We have been working with our mortgage lender to try to keep our home, which is our first since 1979 in which we've been living for the last 3 years. They are foreclosing on us and we got a notice this past Saturday that on the 16 of this month (March) they are auctioning off our home. We've been living off my social security and a very small pension since she lost her job and have no money and no place to go. In addition, any place we would go would have to be handicap equipped and accessible. We went through bankruptcy in 2014 which makes it more difficult to qualify for housing of almost any kind and are now trying to assess our options. We are in touch with legal aid and looking at possible housing options but we have very little time and no money for moving. We are open to assistance and suggestions. Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks to each of you for your love and support.
