To know Barbara is to love her. She is always ready with a smile and a kind word. Barbara has always been a caregiver of others and now is a time that she needs to be cared for.
I am writing this on behalf of my mother-in-law, Barbara Martinez, who is in the early part of her cancer journey.
On September 3rd, Barbara was taken to Urgent Care in Taos, New Mexico due to a persistent cough. From there it was determined she needed to undergo more tests and was sent to the Emergency Room at Holy Cross Hospital. Doctors at Holy Cross determined that there was a sufficient need to send her to a larger hospital to receive specialized treatment. She was airlifted to Presbyterian Rust Hospital in Rio Rancho, New Mexico where she was hospitalized for two weeks and has been diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer.
To date, she has undergone radiation treatments and will begin chemotherapy and immunotherapy soon.
All funds raised will go directly to Barbara's hospital bills and the costs of treatment.
We are so grateful in advance for your generosity, love, prayers, and support during the biggest challenge Barbara and her family have ever faced.
