Bahati is thirty-six years old. He has a good heart, a great sense of humor, and the best stories. He loves (!) soccer, nature, and animals.
Bahati fled violence in Democratic Republic of Congo. He arrived in the United States in December 2023.
At the time, he was healthy. He planned to work, earn money, and bring his wife (newlyweds!) and brother to join him.
But in May, he was diagnosed with ALS. Now he and his team are working together to try to bring his family as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, we need all the help we can get to fill his days with as much comfort and joy as possible –
We are accepting donations to pay for quality-of-life expenses, like –
- Phone service for wife and brother back home in refugee camp so they can stay in touch ($50 per month)
- Wi-fi hotspot to stream soccer ⚽✨ ($159.99 one-time, then $89.99 per month)
- Atlanta Botanical Garden membership for getting out of the hospital ($115)
- Atlanta Zoo membership for getting out of the hospital ($129)
- Anything else Bahati needs
