Our family is facing something no one is ever prepared for.

My sister, Gretchen, is a loving wife, devoted mother, daughter, aunt, friend, teacher, and one of the strongest people we know. She has been bravely battling breast cancer for a number of years, and heartbreakingly, due to complications it is now causing stage 4 liver failure.

Gretchen and her family currently live in Peru, while the bulk of her family and friends are in the United States. Being separated by distance has made this journey even more difficult, as we are doing everything we can from afar to support her, her husband, and their two young children during this unimaginable time.

Despite everything, Gretchen continues to fight with courage and grace — all while trying to be present for her husband, Jack, and their two young children, who are her entire world.

As you can imagine, this journey has brought overwhelming emotional and financial strain. Medical treatments, hospital stays, medications, travel for care, and the loss of income during this time have created a heavy burden for their family. Our hope is to ease some of that stress so they can focus on what matters most: time together, comfort, and care.

We are raising funds to help with:

• Travel and caregiving costs

• Support for her husband and children during this incredibly difficult time
