Bringing Bussy Building Back

Donation protected
The historic Bussy building on Margaretville's Main Street has been empty since August.  That's sad.  It's an important anchor building in our community.

Built in the mid-1800s, Lafayette Bussy started selling groceries and dry goods there at the turn of the 20th century.  His children and grandchildren continued the tradtion until the 1980s. Margaretville residents and visitors who remember it are excited about starting a new tradition there.

Now, as then, there are scores of phenomenal food growers and producers in our region, bringing the farm to every table.  They need a year-round place to sell their wares.

With the help of our community, our start up business will fill the Bussy building with the best fresh food our local farmers offer, along with top quality, delicious treats from our artisan food producers.  We'll create a special space, where people can, once again, meet and eat, catch up and converse, and take home the bounty of the farmer's basket.

With your kind support, the Bussy building will be a vibrant, living landmark once again.
