Alfie, a UK resident, is raising funds for his friend Diana Al Moughrabi, a journalist from Gaza City and the mother of five children: Diana, 13; Joan, 11; Carmel, 10; Yassin, 5; and Ayloul, 3. Diana fled to Cairo with her five children to seek medical treatment for her 5-year-old son, Yassin, who has cancer. Their situation worsened after the Israeli destruction of the Abdel Aziz Rantisi Hospital in November 2023.Currently, Diana and her kids live in Egypt – Cairo they face a severe financial difficulty as her work terminated her contract, thus she lost her only job and the only income for her family. Diana explains her life in Egypt from one hand she feels safe and protected but on the other hand she can’t live in Egypt as she lost her official documents, she can’t renew her residency and this preventing the family from accessing education, healthcare, and basic rights.

The war’s impact and forced displacement on Diana’s children mental health. The kids witnessed aggression and violation in Gaza, which led to a persistent impact on their physical and mental health with long-term consequences for their development.

In particular her husband remains trapped in Gaza due to a lack of funds to reunite with them. The kids still thinking about their father’s life, and think about their future, they couldn’t stop asking about what will happen in the coming days, this also effect badly to their psychological treatment. It increased risk for specific mental disorders, distress from forced separation from their father who still in Gaza. and fear for personal and family’s safety.

Diana’s children are struggling with psychological trauma, having received online therapy for months with little improvement. They are unable to attend school, and Yassin’s treatment is at risk. The campaign aims to fund her husband’s travel to Cairo and help the family rebuild their lives by securing education, medical care, and psychological support. Diana asks for donations and for people to share her story to ensure a future for her children.
