Donate to Help Mom Overcome Hardship

Hi, this is my mother’s story. My mother has been struggling, and I wanted to create a GoFundMe for her and ask if anyone could donate anything you can, even just a dollar. It will help so much to pay for her bills and food.

In 2023, she had just moved into a studio in Antioch after her fiancée passed away. She restarted her life by living by herself and working part-time as a caregiver. She has been working paycheck to paycheck. Her depression was also getting severe because she was having a hard time forgetting him and struggling to live.

In January 2025, she had to have emergency surgery. She had surgery on the spinal cord C3, C4, C5, and C6. After surgery, she was transferred to a post-acute rehabilitation center in Concord for almost 2 months. When she was finally discharged from the rehabilitation, she was really happy and excited to go home. When she arrived, she opened the door to her apartment but noticed her door was unlocked. She pushed open the door and was really shocked.

Her whole apartment was burglarized and trashed. There was trash, clothes, and all of her stuff was scattered. Unfortunately, her money, jewelry, laptop, tablet, silver collection, and everything valuable was gone. My mom was still in shock and crying, that it was difficult for her to call the police. She eventually got the courage to call them, and when the police came, they made a report. The police said they would do their best to arrest the thief. This was devastating because my mom has already gone through so much. She needs help paying her bills and buying her food. It is also difficult because she cannot pay her phone bill, and she needs to have important meetings and talk to doctors.

My mom is not fully recovered yet. She must wear a brace on her neck for 6 months. She continues to do therapy twice a week, and the nurse needs to see her twice a week. Her doctor said she will be able to work after a year or 2 years. It will depend on her body and recovery. Thank you for reading this, and I hope you have it in your heart to share your blessing. Thank you so much.
