Hello All,
As a friend of the family, I helped them set up this GoFundMe.
The Satre family has received word that their daughter Adelaide (Addie), who is 13, needs scoliosis correction surgery. She has been cleared for Vertebral Body Tethering (VBT) surgery to correct her severe scoliosis. Insurance denied the surgery and they have had to look for alternative care. Thankfully, the inventor of the surgery has agreed to accept her case and will perform this procedure in Philadelphia, PA, far from the Satre's home in Minnesota. The surgery is scheduled for June 4th. The family is facing an incredibly difficult journey ahead. This surgery is not covered by insurance and we are asking for the support of friends and family to help us cover a portion of the significant costs associated with travel expenses, lodging, food and lack of insurance coverage. They will need to be away from home for a minimum of two weeks, and we want to ensure Addie has the safest and most comfortable environment before and after surgery. Addie and one of her parents will need to fly home first class to ensure Addie is as comfortable as possible.
While Shriners Hospital may cover some of the costs, we are humbly asking for support to help cover:
Lodging near the hospital
Meals during the stay
Transportation and travel costs
Out-of-pocket surgical costs (this is not covered by insurance)
Lost income from time off work
Every donation, no matter the size, brings the family closer to giving Addie the care she needs and helps them stay by her side during this critical time and difficult surgery. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing our story with others.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
With gratitude,
The Satre Family
