Rebuild our life

Hi,

My name is Kelsey. I’m 31, and a mum of 3 young boys, Kolby 12, Slater 6, and Taigh 5.

1 therapy dog and 3 cats.

Yesterday (17th August) I went on about my day, leaving my study campus to go to gym only to get a phone call from my neighbour around 5pm saying my house is on fire. Thankfully no one was home.

The fire started in the kitchen, there is significant damage with the ceiling being ripped open, and heavy smoke and soot throughout the kitchen / living / dining area and upstairs smoke damage.

Slater, my 6 year old is severely asthmatic so a lot of our things will need to be repurchased due to the heavy smoke damage throughout the property.

My 3 cats were rushed to the 24hr emergency vet with them all needing to be placed into an oxygen chamber. This vet bill alone is already at $1800 with expected to go up with further care still required.

I am embarrassed to be asking for help but also at a loss of how else I can get my family back on our feet. A friend suggested to start a GoFund Me page to try and source some support. Even if it’s $5 anything can help! Or please share my post. It honestly means so much to me.

We will be needing to find a new home, first months rent, bond, a skip bin, removalists, new / secondhand furniture, children’s items and on going vet care.
