My name is Rachael Bailes, and I have created this Campaign for my twin, Heather Bailes. Heather was in tragic motorcycle accident, which lead to the amputation of her left leg. To not only help fund her way through her new journey, I also wanted to share her story and tell you about the strongest person I have ever known.
Heather was in a motorcycle accident in mid July of 2015. At the Scene, Heather dislocated her knee so severely that it severed the main artery in her leg and the nerves to the lower part of her leg. She proceeded to call 911 for herself and my father, who had broken his clavicle and collapsed his left lung. While calling 911 Heather was able to tie a shirt around her leg to stop the bleeding. She not only is the most courageous person I've ever known, but she also saved her own life.
Heather is 28 years old and a respected volleyball coach across Northeast Ohio. Her and I have been playing volleyball for the majority of our lives, starting at the age of 6. We started coaching club volleyball at the age of 17 and high school volleyball at age 21. She has coached several hundred volleyball players across Northeast Ohio since. Currently she is my JV coach at Aurora High School and also coaches Club and does private lessons. Heather was also a Track athlete throughout our lives. She was a Hurdler but could run any event she was entered. In High school, Heather achieved over 50 awards, including conference honors, qualified and ran in the finals for Division 1 Regionals and earned a college scholarship for Track. Running was, and remains a huge part of her life, through both coaching and her lifestyle.
With these funds we hope to get Heather back on her feet, back in the gym, and close to the girls that she inspires everyday. She is courageous, influential, and passionate. These qualities help build relationships with her athletes, and influence everyone around her to be great, including our family.
Medical bills are soon going to come into factor, as well as prosthetics. Every dollar counts as we get her back on her feet.

Heather only knows success. She soon, will inspire us, and most importantly the Youth in which she dedicates her life to.
