Irvin was on a vacation with his family (2 daughters and girlfriend), when he began to complain about a severe headache. He developed a constant cough, that lead to him vomiting. He was taken to the hospital on Sunday morning, because he could no longer bare the pain. After being admitted, it was discovered that Irvin was suffering from intraventricular hemorrhage (bleeding inside or around the brain). He is currently at Grand Strand Medical Center in SOUTH CAROLINA, but he lives in RICHMOND, VIRGINIA; a 5-hour ride. Irvin has had several test, a Cat-scan and a MRI; and 4 doctors collectively. However, the doctors have not found the reason for the bleeding, nor have they treated the symptoms. Irvin is in excruciating pain and the medications they have been adminstrating since Sunday are no longer working. The family is growing worried that if he's not treated/transferred to a different facility capable of caring for him, things could get worst. Irvin's symptoms aren't subsiding, and the hospital is continuing to medicate him instead of treating his condition. The family is in dire need to get him home so that he can receive proper care. Driving him home without medical assistance will be detrimental to his health. The hospital staff are stating a transfer would be too costly and they are capable of providing what he needs, therefore they will not transfer him. The family believes, the doctors aren't properly caring for Irvin; The doctors aren't on one accord. One doctor stated to the family that Irvin was well enough to be discharged and the family could drive him to a hospital in Richmond VA. This lead to the nurses seeking another doctor to keep Irvin hospitalized. The pain he is experiencing under several doctors care is unethical. Irvin is in a facility where they aren't treating him, and the bills are compiling. Not to mention, the family has been staying in hotels and eating out to stay close to monitior/advocate for him, due to the severity of his injury. He will need ambulatory care to get him safely transported to VCU medical center in Richmond, VA. Irvin is also going to be out of work for a while; he will need financial support to ensure his family is care for, while his health improves. There has been no time frame as to how long the process will be. At this moment, the most important thing is getting him home to proper care. It is very costly for transportation, and the family cannot afford to pay out of pocket for the transport. The family is asking for small donations to assist in any way you can to get him home. He does have insurance, however insurance will not cover his transportation. No amount is too small. The family thanks you for all your prayers and support in advance.
