Vet bills for my wounded and shot cat!

Hello! My name is Rebecca, most people call me Beck. I have 3 cats currently. I love cats, have grown up with them my whole life and just love them! I am a crazy cat lady and proud!

I have never had a boy cat before, until Loki (pictured). He’s a gorgeous boy, but loves getting into scraps. He’s cost me a fortune over the years!! And I’ve always paid it, but he is insured.

last week, Loki went missing for 5 days, and when he came home, he was limping. Turns out, he has a fractured leg in 3 places and someone has also shot him with a pellet gun, as this is lodged in his leg.

my insurance won’t pre approve a claim, and my vets would not go ahead without some sort of payment. I have had to lend thousands to pay, so my boy could be operated on.

Unfortunately, my insurance will only cover £2000 - £2500, and the bill is currently just over £4500. I have never had to do this before, and would prefer to never do it again. But I don’t have the money to cover that big bill, it’s also the summer holidays and I have 3 kids, and only work part time. I have donated to countless go fund me accounts, I never thought I would have to make one myself!?

I will be changing vets and insurance companies after this is all dealt with. I thought that’s why we had insurance, because I can’t afford big vet bills.
