Surgery for Maya
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
It is with a heavy heart that I reach out for your help in any way possible for my puppy, Maya.
Maya came into my life at just 10 weeks old and has brought endless joy and laughter ever since. She is now a 7-month-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who loves being outside, watching the world go by through the front window, chasing leaves on walks, playing with her toys, and enjoying all the treats. She is the sweetest and most gentle girl with a big heart and a constantly wagging tail, and right now, she needs a little help.
In early June, I noticed a marble-sized lump on Maya’s neck. It quickly grew, and after several vet and emergency visits, she underwent two surgeries to drain what turned out to be a large abscess. One of those procedures involved placing a primrose drain, which she wore for five days. I remained hopeful that this was part of her healing journey and that we were nearing the light at the end of the tunnel.
On Thursday, June 26, the drain was removed, and everything appeared to be healing well. Maya was back to her happy, playful self with lots of energy. But just four days later, another lump developed in the same spot, and it has been growing again.
After returning to the vet yesterday, a radiologist performed an ultrasound and discovered a stick lodged in the pocket, which would be the root cause of the infection.
Maya is now scheduled for a third surgery to remove the stick and finally begin a true path to recovery. I am doing everything I can to support her, but with the mounting veterinary costs, I am hoping to raise funds to help cover this procedure.
If you are able to donate, share, or support in any way, it would mean the world to both of us. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.
Much love,
Diana and Maya
