In August this year dad was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. He had started radiation therapy that was put on hold when a mass in his neck cut off air flow and had an emergency tracheotomy. He was unable to swallow or eat on his own and is fed through a feeding tube. Dad stayed in a rehabilitation hospital learning to walk and talk again and since he returned home in the care of my mom, had made incredible progress. The day before Easter he fell and broke both arms and a leg. He is presently recovering from surgery of repair for his leg and one of his arms. He is scheduled for another surgery next week.
My parents have worked all there lives, even in these retirement years they have always worked and for the last 8 months have suffered great loss of income. With cancer comes many added expenses plus.
Anyone who knows my parents knows that they are always there for friends, family and strangers in need.
