i am a Canadian citizen who lives in Dubai and I am fundraising for the children of Gaza to get shelter , clothing and food I will be sending the money to my colleague Majdi Hamdan who went to Gaza on vacation to see his family in September 2023 and got stranded there.

his and other relatives homes were destroyed and they they are about 42 members who ended up moving from one area to another living in temporary tents .

Hello everyone,

My name is Majdi Hamdan from Gaza, specifically from the West Khan Yunis camp, where my family (8 adult individuals) and my brothers’ families (33 individuals – 17 adult, 16kids) lived in one residential square. We owned modest, but beautiful, asbestos houses, challenging the life of poverty at that time, as I was the sole breadwinner for my family and their families. My brothers, I try to put a smile on their faces despite poverty and life’s challenges.

I travelled to work as a civil engineer in Dubai in 2006 so that I could continue life and improve the living conditions of my family by building a house that contained the minimum necessities of life, whether for my family or for my brothers’ families and during twenty years of exile, away from my children and my family, I was able to secure housing, food, drink, and a decent life,

I returned again on a short vacation to the Gaza Strip in September 2023 to face my fate, as the October 7th , 2023 war on Gaza started and ending everything and taking everything: our dreams, my brothers, our homes... etc.,

A new chapter of suffering and displacement begins. On 19/12/2023, warplanes directly targeted and destroyed the houses of my family and my brothers over their heads without warning. where 17 individuals was murdered due to this victim of this bombing including my brothers, a number of their children, and a number of our relatives who were displaced from northern Gaza , and then who remained alive ended up homeless. Clothes and drinks ...... everything were gone.

Twenty years of my life were gone in the blink of an eye, as if nothing had happened. All that remained was to save your life and the life of your family, On 24th Jan 204 We were displaced under fire, leaving everything behind. Subsequently, we evacuated to AL Mawasi in khan Younis, desperately searching for a haven.

It is fear... It's genocide...to begin the suffering of displacement and shelter tents, the suffering of cold, hunger and thirst, the fear of the sounds of planes and the merciless air and sea bombardment, the Specter of death everywhere in every street, even the places of displacement deemed unsafe, as well the entire Gaza Strip.

Currently, after more than 6 months of displacement in a shelter tent my family face the grim reality of having no home, no work, and living under the constant threat of fire and bombardments. The entire Gaza Strip is deemed unsafe, making access to food and drinkable water a daily challenge. The absence of proper facilities has left them consuming non-potable water, posing additional health risk.

I am here today to rescue my family from this terrifying situation, either to safe the minimum necessities of a decent life or evacuation to a safe location, however the path to safety is fraught with financial challenges, the people in Gaza have been asked to pay an average $5000 per person to be allowed out of Gaza and the expenses needed to stay in Cairo. The urgency of the situation cannot be overstated. The time is off the essence, and every moment without intervention carriers the risk of further bloodshed and loss of lives.

In this critical moment, I earnestly implore the kindness of all compassionate individuals. You support can be the beacon of hope that guides my family from the world’s most dangerous place towards anew and secure life.
