Wellness Center Expansion

Our Story: After graduating from Spa Tech Institute in 2008 I opened A Healing Vibration as a on-site massage therapy business (just as the markets crashed!) In 2009 I added retail, starting with handcrafted jewelry, which grew into the colorful selection of chainmail I offer today and expanding over the years to include: skin care products, crystals, incense, and more. I am currently in school at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts for certificates in: Nutrition Coaching, Life Coaching, and Urban Farming, next year I am looking into doing an Aromatherapy program. I've worked out of a few different offices over the years and learned many lessons in what to do and what not to do and it is time to finally hang out my shingle (and get a real sign!)
The Expansion: Home away from home, a full service wellness center! I will expand the current retail selection to include a larger selection of gemstones/crystals, metaphysical tools, chimes, incense, and jewelry; as well as add clothing, candles, books, and consignment from local artists. One of my goals is to build a "featured local artist" display with a new local artist every month including a meet and greet event with hors d'oeurves. Workshop space, ideally I will find a location with two workshop spaces to accomodate a large variety of teachers and flexible scheduling. I am looking for teachers and presenters with a range of topics based around wellness: spiritual, meditation, green living, nutrition, crafts, etc. As far as services, I am looking for a handful of like minded wellness practitioners to sublet space. I am open to hourly rentals to yearly rentals and anything in between. I have a few potential practitioners right now. I will also be hiring a few office staff members to handle retail transactions (yay no more making appoinments for retail purchases!), booking appointments, and just making sure everything operates smoothly while I'm giving massages. My dream center also includes a meditation room and a community sitting room for everyone to come hang out, read books, and relax with a cup of tea.
Funding: The business plan was submitted to my first choice bank on 7/10/14 and I've been in contact with a second bank to compare rates and options. I started a Go Fund Me campaign to try out some alternative funding methods and because the less debt I start the expansion with, the more funds I have available for working capital to meet client's requests for inventory.
Where the Funds Go: renovations of the new location, start up fees and licensing, fixtures, inventory, and decor.
Have questions, suggestions, or know teachers/presenters/practitioners...I'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to email me at [email redacted]
